Assistant General Manager

The Mission City Outlaws are pleased to announce the hiring of Doug Stienstra as the team’s new
Assistant GM. Doug had a successful career in the BCHL and then went on to play 4 years in the NCAA
at Cornell University. From there, he signed a free agent contract with the New Jersey Devils, playing
one-year of professional hockey in North America and then for 8 seasons over in Europe.
“Quite simply, Doug is a smart hockey guy who brings a sharp eye for evaluating players. He is deeply
connected in the hockey world, and this hiring continues with our theme of significantly upgrading and
improving our organization this off-season. His focus will be on player development, recruiting and
using his network of contacts to promote and drive our athletes to the next level. Doug, welcome to the
Outlaws!” – Scott Farrell, GM
