OUTLAWS COME UP SHORT AGAINST WHALERS

Saturday night the Mission City Outlaws and the White Rock Whalers met for the 3rd time this season.  Each team came into the game with a win a piece.
White Rock would score early into the contest as Wendall Adriano opened the scoring just :47 seconds into the game.  The first period would be a definite seesaw battle and Mission City would tie things up with a goal from Cooper Crowe.  Tanner Halley would regain the lead back for the Whalers and just 26 seconds later Rehaun Lidder would pull the Outlaws even at 2-2 with his 7th of the campaign. White Rock would add 2 more before the 1st period ended which included a penalty shot goal for Adam Lenarduzzi and make it 4-2 for the home team.
The Whalers would extend the lead to 5-2 but Colton Collard would extend his goal scoring streak to 10 games and get the Outlaws as close as they would get making it 5-3,  Whalers would get a 5 on 3 later in the middle period as Sean Robins would get his first of 2 and extend the lead to 6-3 after 40 minutes.
The Outlaws made a push in the 3rd period but scoring came late in the period as Rylan Elson notched his first of the season to get Mission City back within 2.  The Outlaws decided to pull goalie Jake Poblete for the extra attacker and a miscue from Mission City would have the puck stolen by Nico McDonald who put it into the empty net and this game would end 7-4 for the Home team Whalers.
The loss ends the win streak at 3 for the Outlaws.  White Rock continues to be unbeaten on home ice this season picking up their 6 straight win at Centennial Arena.
The Mission City Outlaws will resume this 5 game road trip with a stop in Surrey to take on the Knights for the first meeting of the season on Thursday Oct 23.  Game time is 7pm.
