PANTHERS SINK THEIR TEETH INTO OUTLAWS
It was the 3rd game in 4 nights for the Mission City Outlaws on Sunday evening as they continued on this long road swing with a stop in Port Moody to take on the Panthers.
Outlaws were a little sluggish out of the gate having played last evening and the fresher of the 2 teams, Port Moody, would capitalize early in the 1st and would lead 1 – 0 after the opening 20 minutes.
Devon Lee would extend the lead early in the middle frame to make it 2-0 for the Panthers and then the Outlaws would get into a bit of penalty trouble late in the 2nd and Port Moody would extend the lead to 3-0 after 40 minutes.
Mission City started the third with a bit more jump in their step and Max Wingrove would finally solve goaltender Rajan Bassi on the 5 on 3 tally to make it 3-1. Colton Collard would get the Outlaws a little closer and make things interesting with his 18th of the season. Unfortunately, the Outlaws would take a tripping call just moments after and the Panthers wasted little time as it took just 10 seconds on the man advantage for Port Moody to stretch the lead to 4-2.
Outlaws would pull goalie Jake Poblete late in the 3rd period to make a comeback but the Panthers would hold on from the Outlaws late push and defeat Mission City 4-2.
With the loss, The Outlaws sit 4th in the Harold Brittain with one more game to come on this road trip on Wednesday night in Aldergrove to meet with the Ironmen.
