OUTLAWS PICK UP 1ST WIN OF NOVEMBER
Saturday night the Mission City Outlaws played host to the Port Moody Panthers and the Outlaws returned home for the first time in 3 weeks.
It was the third meeting of the season between the 2 clubs with Port Moody taking the first 2 games of the campaign and the Outlaws were looking to cut the season series in half with a win and they did not disappoint.
Mission City would jump out to a 3-0 lead as Ethan Raymond, Joseph Tuhten and a First PJHL goal from Callum Drummond but the Panthers would get on the board late in the period to make it 3-1 after the opening frame.
Port Moody would keep chipping away in the 2nd period and would get the only 2 goals to tie things at 3-3 after 40 minutes.
In the 3rd the Outlaws came out of the gate with running start as Ben Leslie and Cooper Crowe would make it 5-3 early but a bad give away by the Outlaws while Mission City was on the man advantage and Dane Svingen – Jones would bury the short handed chance to get the Panthers within 1 to make it 5-4.
Panthers pulled the goalie late in the 3rd period and pressed hard but with 1 second left Rehaun Lidder put the puck in the empty net and secured the victory for the Outlaws 6-4.
With the win Mission City holds sole possession of 3rd place and the Outlaws have won back to back games. The Outlaws will be back in action on Friday when they travel to MSA Arena in Abbotsford to face the Abbotsford Pilots before returning home next Saturday hosting the Surrey Knights.
