Outlaws Thrill in OT win

Saturday night the Mission City Outlaws played host to the Abbotsford Pilots in search of their first win on home ice this young season and the fellas did not disappoint.

Which turned into a seesaw battle with their rivals, the 2 teams would combine for 11 goals on the night with the Outlaws coming out on top 6-5 in overtime.
Pilots would open the scoring on the powerplay with a goal from Veteran forward Hudson Koch.  The Outlaws Cooper Crowe would respond just a short time later with a cannon that beats netminder Lucas Szulc and the Outlaws drew even.  Ben Leslie would give the Outlaws the lead with his 2nd of the season and Mission City would lead 2-1 after 1 period.
The 2nd period started off a little choppy by both sides and Caleb Fedrau would capitalize for Abbotsford and tie things up at 2 and then a short while later restore the lead as Rhett Siaus would rip home his 3rd of the season to make it 3-2.  Outlaws would then have their turn to respond and they score back to back power play goals from Max Wingrove and Colton Collard and the Home team Outlaws would take a 4-3 lead after 40 minutes.
Seeing how the first 40 minutes went, you knew this game was far from over and once again Abbotsford would score on the power play by Outlaws Killer Bradley Ercanbrack to tie it up and then as time started to tick away in the 3rd period, Abbotsford would take the lead back again when Preston Muxlow potted his 3rd of the season.  Outlaws weren’t done though and Sam Gerbrand would tie this one up again and set the stage for Over time.
Into OT and it was Colton Collard who sent this one into the win column with a goal going coast to coast and ripping it in the top shelf for his 2nd of the contest and giving the Outlaws their first win on home ice.
The home stand continues with a Sunday evening matchup against the White Rock Whalers at Mission Leisure Centre.  Puck drops at 7pm.
